Job Summary:

The Flock Services Manager will direct and coordinate the Flock Services activities for all Trillium Farms locations.  The Flock Services Manager will report to the Centrum Valley Farms General Manager of Operations.

                                   

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct and coordinate all activities associated with chick placement, vaccination of pullets, pullet transfer to layer houses, movement of spent hens from layer houses, cleaning of layer and pullet barns between flocks and various other activities as assigned.
  • Participate in scheduling of Flock Services activities with Support Operations and General Manager guided by the Centrum Valley Farms Master Schedule. 
  • Schedule specific activity of direct reports and service contract providers accordingly.
  • Schedule the spent hen movement dates and logistics with the receiving customers, Order materials and supplies required for specific Flock Services activities.
  • Participate in the training of employees and service contract providers in the areas of biosecurity, safety, animal welfare compliance and human traffic awareness.  Enforce adherence in all areas.
  • Direct, lead, develop and train employees in the proper performance of activities.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of service contract providers.
  • Perform administrative tasks and reporting within specified deadlines
  • Payroll submission, movement reports, compliance reports, etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • This position is fast paced and the time sensitive activities affect many integral areas of the Centrum Valley Farms operations. 
  • Proven management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple activities that must occur simultaneously
  • Possess strong take charge qualities of initiative, leadership, and management to direct employees, direct contract service providers and to work with multiple internal and external partners to accomplish tasks.
  • Possess a sense of urgency to keep multiple activities on schedule, but also have the ability to exhibit patience and decorum when influencing and motivating direct reports and internal / external personnel and partners.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal / external customers, vendors and personnel.
  • Support Services Personnel, Farm Personnel, Internal Compliance Personnel, Spent Hen Partners, Logistic Providers, Contract Service Providers, Veterinarians, Supply Vendors, etc.
  • Must have strong attention to detail in performing all tasks, including administrative activities, adhering to deadlines.
