Breaking Room Lead

Essential Job Function

  • Breaking Room Lead is responsible for overseeing tanker loading and breaking room staff
  • Supply the servant leadership required to motivate employees to work as a team in meeting corporate and plant goals and objectives on a daily basis
  • Provide leadership, direction and development to their teams.
  • Monitor and record silo temperatures and other quality documentation
  • Morning set up of the breaker, chill press, auto filters, silos and product lines must be ready for breaking operations to start at 6:45 am
  • Responsible for end of production run by rinsing down equipment, pushing product to silos, and setting up and starting CIPs.
  • Lead is responsible for maintaining floor cleanliness at all times and performing cleaning activities
  • Train new employees and employees in new positions
  • Lead is responsible to ensure silos, tankers, product lines, parts; clamps gaskets are sanitary before calling QA/FSIS for inspection.
  • Must have good communication with breaking team, Plant Managers, Quality Assurance Technicians, and FSIS inspector.
  • Must be a team player and create a culture of one team
  • Able to follow liquid run schedule and keep plant on target
  • Monitor CIP and other cleaning and chemical procedures
  • Monitor equipment and report any issues to management and maintenance
  • Train and implement new operating processes and procedures
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks as outlined in COGZ program for the Breaking Room Lead position.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

1+ years’ of leadership experience along with some managerial duties
2+ years’ of food processing experience preferred
Loading and driving experience preferred
Good Communication (Written / Verbal) skills, organized, goal oriented, accountable.
High documentation and written procedure skills
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in high stress environment
Good Leadership skills and Management skills
Work in fast pace environment and manage multiple tasks at one time
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Agile, able to lift 50lbs.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, and standing for long periods of time
