Skilled Maintenance Technician

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sustain and Improve Preventative Maintenance Program on all processing equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Facilitate and coordinate technician activities across multiple facilities
  • Install, restore, maintain and upgrade processing line equipment
  • Control machine downtime by performing routine maintenance and operations techniques
  • Install and troubleshoot PLCs and drives
  • Diagnosing system controls and software issues
  • Install facility lighting, wiring, machinery motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed
  • Identifying and correcting root cause of repetitive failures
  • Manages parts inventories and ensures critical parts are in stock
  • Timing of grading equipment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 or 4 year technology degree in Agricultural Technology, Manufacturing Technology or a related field, or experience equivalent to the degree.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial or military systems maintenance.
  • Must have Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatic, and Diagnostic aptitude
  • Must have experience with operating, repairing, and troubleshooting of large scale electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment
  • Must have experience/ability to diagnose problems from the system control, down through the system to the application point on the machine
  • Must have the technical ability to understand the software, and the implications that changes to the software or changes to the machine will create.
  • Strong problem solving skills and proven project management
  • Strong leadership, operational and analytical skills.
  • Preferred Skills: Fabrication, HVAC, programming, and material handling equipment
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish Preferred, but not necessary to perform the duties.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time
