HVAC Technician I

Job Summary:

As a HVAC Maintenance Tech I, you would be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our HVAC equipment. You will work directly on site, or across multiple sites, to maintain all HVAC equipment. You will perform hands-on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of mechanical systems on a daily basis. This position supports the achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sustain and Improve Preventative Maintenance Program on all HVAC equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment
  • Install, restore, maintain and upgrade HVAC equipment
  • Control HVAC equipment downtime by performing routine maintenance and operations techniques
  • Install and troubleshoot PLCs and drives
  • Diagnosing system control issues
  • Install HVAC wiring, motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed
  • Identifying and correcting root cause of failures
  • Coordinate parts ordering and ensures critical parts are in stock
  • Ensure equipment is in safe and good working conditions
  • Work closely with other departments and create an environment of one team
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HVAC Apprentice License or equivalent industry work experience.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial or military systems maintenance.
  • Planning and project Management
  • Must have high Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatic, and Diagnostic aptitude
  • Must have experience with operating, repairing, and troubleshooting of large scale electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment
  • Must have experience/ability to diagnose problems from the system control, down through the system to the application point on the machine
  • Strong time management, operational and analytical skills.
  • Preferred Skills: Fabrication, HVAC, programming, and material handling equipment
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends on call.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time.
